Kaleidoscope Katrantzou: Mary Katrantzou, 10 Years in Fashion is a solo retrospective exhibition in Atlanta, USA, celebrating the designer's iconic style.

Savannah College of Art & Design is currently hosting a retrospective exhibition at SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion and film celebrating the creative style of London based designer, Mary Katrantzou. Throughout the exhibition, Katrantzou’s vibrant ensemble of art inspired textiles and garments is presented with the help of Schläppi 6000 Aloof and 2200 mannequins, made in Italy by Bonaveri.

Born and raised in Greece, Katrantzou studied textile and fashion design in the USA and the UK and established her brand in London in 2009. Her inspiration has drawn influence from many of Europe’s greatest creative themes including Bauhaus, Rennaisance and contemporary art and music. A family heritage of interior design and textile engineering has reinforced creative confidence that is evident in the garments on display.

In part, this exhibition enables a generation of new designers to witness the skillset involved in this extraordinary career. SCAD FASH students are able to view the garments up close and take part in a discussion interview with Katrantzou and Vogue Creative Digital Director, Sally Singer. SCAD FASH considers garments as important conduits of identity, something Katrantzou has managed to amass in her collections.

By experiencing extraordinary, world-class exhibitions at SCAD FASH, students observe the work of global fashion superstars, they also meet and exchange ideas directly with creators of the work.
