Schläppi 2200 mannequins for Yves Saint Laurent retrospective exhibition in Virginia, USA

“Yves Saint Laurent: The Perfection of Style” featuring 100 couture and ready-to-wear items from the Paris-based Fondation Pierre Bergé and other private collections is on at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts until the 27th of August 2017.

The exhibition includes a number of Schläppi 2200 mannequins used to display garments from the Seventies up to 2002, including pieces from his early years at Dior and his iconic Mondrian-inspired dresses.

Schläppi 2200 mannequins also featured at the International Fashion Showcase, the Vulgar and The Missoni exhibitions in London over the last year.

Yves Saint Laurent: The Perfection of Style is curated by Florence Müller, the Denver Art Museum’s Avenir Foundation Curator of Textile Art and Curator of Fashion, in collaboration with Chiyo Ishikawa, Seattle Art Museum’s Deputy Director of Art and Curator of European Painting and Sculpture. Barry Shifman, VMFA’s Sydney and Frances Lewis Family Curator of Decorative Arts, 1890 to the present, is the organising curator for VMFA.
